Purpose
This Privacy Policy explains how PrepLibrary handles information when you visit PrepLibrary.in, install or use the PrepLibrary app, create an account, purchase membership, join a Zoom study room, or contact us.
PrepLibrary is designed to support focused preparation, study accountability, rankings, streaks, study circles, and virtual study participation. We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, and improve these Services.
Information We May Collect
The information collected depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant. It may include:
Account and contact information
- name or display name;
- email address;
- phone number;
- login credentials or authentication identifiers; and
- account, membership, plan, and access-period details.
Study and membership information
- selected exam or study category;
- study goals, streaks, rankings, attendance, or progress information;
- study-circle or community participation; and
- messages, feedback, support requests, or content you choose to submit.
Payment information
We may receive payment status, transaction references, plan details, and limited billing information from a payment provider. Payment credentials such as complete card numbers, banking passwords, or payment authentication codes are handled by the relevant payment provider rather than stored by PrepLibrary, unless the provider’s documented integration requires otherwise.
Device and technical information
The app or website may receive information such as device model, operating-system version, app version, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP address, language, crash information, log data, and device identifiers or advertising identifiers where the app or its SDKs collect them.
The exact information depends on the app build, permissions, analytics tools, crash-reporting tools, advertising settings, and third-party SDKs actually used by PrepLibrary. The app owner must verify this list against the final production build before publishing.
Zoom-related information
When you join a live session through Zoom, Zoom may process information under its own privacy policy, such as your display name, device information, meeting participation, and technical connection data. PrepLibrary may receive limited attendance or session-related information needed to operate the study programme. Zoom is the only video-meeting platform used for PrepLibrary’s live study features.
How we use Information
PrepLibrary may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the Services, including:
- Zoom for live study rooms and interactive sessions;
- hosting, database, authentication, analytics, crash-reporting, and security providers;
- payment processors and financial-service providers;
- email, SMS, push-notification, or customer-support providers; and
- professional advisers, auditors, law-enforcement agencies, or government authorities where disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Services.
We require service providers to handle information for legitimate service purposes. Third-party providers may have their own privacy policies and may process information in locations outside your state or country, subject to applicable law.
Community visibility
Information that you choose to display in a profile, study circle, ranking, group, discussion, or other community feature may be visible to members who can access that feature. Please do not publish passwords, payment credentials, government identification numbers, medical records, or other sensitive information in a community space.
PrepLibrary may moderate or remove community content to enforce its Terms and maintain a safe study environment.
Permissions and notifications
The app may request only the permissions needed for its features. Depending on the final app version, these may include permissions for notifications, internet access, microphone or camera use during Zoom-related flows, or other device features required for a clearly stated function.
You can manage permissions through your device settings. Refusing a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but should not prevent access to unrelated features where the app allows it.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website and app may use cookies, local storage, pixels, software development kits, and similar technologies to keep the Services working, remember preferences, understand technical performance, measure usage, and protect the platform.
You can manage certain website cookies through your browser. Mobile-device settings may provide additional controls for advertising identifiers, notifications, permissions, and similar technologies.
Data retention
PrepLibrary retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining membership and transaction records, resolving complaints, preventing fraud, enforcing agreements, protecting safety, and meeting legal obligations.
When information is no longer needed, PrepLibrary may delete it, anonymise it, or securely restrict access to it. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.
Account and data deletion
If you have a PrepLibrary account, you may request deletion through the in-app account deletion option.
A deletion request may remove the account and associated personal information, subject to lawful retention requirements. PrepLibrary may retain limited information required for tax, accounting, payment, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes. Deletion may also remove membership access, saved progress, rankings, streaks, study-circle participation, and other account-linked content. Paid membership fees are not automatically refundable because an account is deleted; see the Refund Policy.
PrepLibrary will review and process a valid request within a reasonable period. We may request information needed to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by PrepLibrary. You may also manage device permissions, notification settings, certain cookies, and optional promotional communications.
Essential service messages may continue while you have an active account or while they are needed to complete a transaction, protect the account, or provide important safety information.
To exercise a privacy right, please contact us using the details at the end of this Policy.
Children and young users
PrepLibrary is intended for competitive-exam aspirants and is not knowingly directed to children below the applicable minimum age. If a minor uses the Services, a parent or legal guardian should be involved and should review these Terms and this Privacy Policy.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so that we can review the request and take appropriate action.
Security
PrepLibrary uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures intended to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No online service, app, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for using a secure device and connection where possible.
Changes to this Policy
PrepLibrary may update this Privacy Policy when the Services, technology, vendors, or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is material, PrepLibrary may provide an additional notice through the app or website where reasonably practicable.
